BIG Project - Top 10 / Portfolio
I think that I did OK overall during this project! I hope everybody likes them :)
***The model for all of these images is my cat Leo! I thought his colors and personality somewhat resembled a Tiger like the ones in Steve's pictures :)

I think I might have taken my money shot! The contrast in color in #3 made me extremely pleased with the image. But what do you guys think? My new tactic has been working great, and as a result I don't have as many cat scratches as last week. I also decided to change the format of #2. I though it cam out OK but I think I'm just gonna stick with the regular format. Feeling good about this project right now -

Well, I guess my cat really didn't want to cooperate this week. Steve Winter would NOT be proud. The only really good image I was able to get was #3. Kind of disappointing. However I'm really starting to appreciate the freedom we are given with this project :)! Hopefully next week Leo will make a little more effort to hold still...

Jeez! This is much harder than I first thought. I never realized how hard it must be to capture animal images, and Steve Winter makes it look way too easy. My cat can barley stand still especially with the flash. But overall these were my 3 favorites. I like the colors that I'm picking up but to be honest, I cant seem to get the composition down. The problem is, whenever I try focusing on the composition while I snap a photo it comes out horrible. So I guess I'll just pray that I get lucky in that area!
I'm very excited to be using flash though! In many of Steve's pictures he uses flash when there isn't enough light, and it comes out amazing. I love that look so I'm going to be doing that as a pattern throughout this project.
****I used your trick by the way Mrs.Underwood! I took some plain copy paper and made a tube shape to soften the flash. Works like a charm

After Natural Light
After searching for the best possible natural light photos, I was both happy and slightly disappointed. I love the different facial expressions of However, one image of my friend Haley came out slightly sepia from some strange reason, and that's basically the only thing that really went wrong. This also happened in some of the photos for my friend Olivia. Next time I will definitely have to research this issue. Anyways, it was very fun to involve my friends in my passion for photography, and I even let them take a few of their own! For me, this was one of the most fun projects so far.

Natural Light
I have to say that I've always been attracted to images with natural light. Somehow, it always manages to draw me in and illustrate immense detail. That's why I'm pretty excited to start this project and include some of my friends. Most likely I will be using my friend Jenna, Haley, and possibly Sammy. I'll try to incorperate composition as well as I can too I can Hopefully I get some good shots by a window or something, or maybe I'll just take them all outside if we get a day with some good sun.
Wish me luck :-)

How to Change the Color of Any Object in Picture!!!
1.) Open up Adobe Photoshop and minimize the window so that you can head into your internet browser. Google chrome and Mozilla Firefox are recommended
2.) Next, simply go to Google or another site with pictures available, (can obviously be your own picture too) and look up an interesting picture that has a main object to change the color. If its your first time trying this out you may want to pick an easy image such as an apple, or an ice cream cone. Something that has smooth lines and stands out against the background. Objects like trees or sea urchins are very hard to do.

3.) For this tutorial I will be using this picture of a spilled nail polish from Google. It's a good idea to make sure that your image isn't too small or too big for better results.

4.) Next, right click your image and press "save image as ..."

5.) Be sure to save your image somewhere where you can find it again. If you can't find it, you can't edit it, so this is pretty important

6.) Return to your Adobe Photoshop tab and press file in the top left hand corner. Then click open. You'll see a list of your files so just click on the picture you just recently saved.

7.) With your picture open, you can finally begin the color changing process. Click on the "quick selection tool" in the top right of your tools window, or press (w) on your key board. Just under the 'Edit' tab at the top of your screen you'll notice three different icons that all look like your quick selection tool. Make sure that you click the one with the tiny plus sign above it. This will allow us to select parts of the picture.

8.) Then, click down with your mouse over the desired subject within your picture, and drag across the screen. This selects part of the picture. You can un-select part of the picture by going back up to the three tiny icons, and pressing on the icon with the (-) sign.
**** Its a great idea to have a smaller brush size of this tool while your selecting things. It allows you to be more specific with your selection, and catch tiny details

9.) Once everything you want selected is selected, go down to the bottom right of your screen to the 'Layers' window. You'll see what looks like a tiny folding page at the very bottom. Click it. This creates a new Group for your selection, allowing you to change the hue (color).

10.) To change the hue, click on whats next to what looks like a grey cone beneath the colorful bar in the adjustments section. Then just play around with the colors until you get your desired look!

Edit: Sorry but it appears that the pictures taken with the print screen button are not really cooperating. I'm looking into the problem so hopefully it will be fixed soon :)
